Safari! Animal #6 - You've got to be quick when you share your living room with the cheetah: the Thomson's gazelle.
Swara in Swahili means gazelle. Thomson's gazelles are the favorite food of the cheetah. So, they have developed a variety of strategies to protect themselves from the swiftest of all land animals. They are remarkably agile: the can run fast, turn on dime and jump high in the air. Sometimes their quick turns and jumping allow them to escape the claws of the ultra-fast feline behind them. They might even throw in a kick for good measure when the cheetah is in biting range. Sometimes these tactics work and sometimes they don't. After all, it's survival of the fittest out there!
