Mystery Animal #7: Muhanga

Muffed elliptical satellite disk mitts
homing in on nocturnal subterranean signals
PATITAPATITAPATITAPATITAPATITAPATITA
Spiked mini-spades on padded potholders
  slashing through surface tellurian debris
TCHK-TCHK-TCHK-TCHK-TCHK-TCHK
Vacuum cleaner muzzle-nuzzle-nozzle
  snuffloscilating into extermination position
SHHHHNNNNUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHH
Rubber band - fly paper - streamer strap
flutter-darting in and out of cavernous nutrient
      receptacle slurping up defenseless wriggles
          for sustenance and flavor sensation
THSSP-THSSP-THSSP-THSSP-THSSP
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

An alien bag of shag rug
Invading the innocent of  the earth?
Nah - its just gentlawkward me
Adding a tad to my girth.
Don't let the description disturb your head
I'm just a simple insectivorous mammalian quadruped
I'm practically first in Webster's text
Was probably near last on the ark
I just love those laboring six-leggeds
I'm your friendly neighborhood ___________.
